A: Tells B that they’re neighbors and welcomes her/him to the building.
B: Thanks B and says that he/she likes the apartment and the building but not familiar with the neighborhood.

A: Makes comment about how nice the apartment and the building are. Offers to help B.
B: Thanks A again. Asks B t o draw him a map so she/he can get to the bank, grocery store, church, etc.
A: Says he/she will be happy to draw map. Says he/she will bring it in the evening. Says goodbye.
B: Thanks B. one more time. Says he/she will be waiting for the map.

Simple past tense
We use the simple past tense of regular and irregular verbs to talk about something that happened in the past.
We form questions and negative sentences in the simple past with did or didn’t.
Did he want to live there? Yes, he did. / No, he didn’t.
                                                He decided to move there.

Preposition + - ing
When a verb follows a preposition (in, at, on, for, by, about, before, without) it ends in —ing.
They got enough money by working hard.
